We spent about 2 hours in Ibiza today, me just sightseeing, climbing up to the fortress and taking pictures, Theresa finally getting her souvenir shopping done.

From about 1 pm on we have been spending our last few hours at Cala Llonga, a beautiful beach, set in a deep inlet, where we have been relaxing.

Yesterday was by far the most exciting day. We took a ferry from Ibiza to Formentera with the Balerias boat called Ibiza Jet (29.80 Euros for supposedly the faster ferry at 25 minutes, it still took us 40 minutes to get over to the other island.)

Formentera is a lot smaller than Ibiza, about 82 square km compared to about 580. And its virtually flat, with only two areas with a long hilly elevation. The highest point is on east end of the island, at Far de la Mola, elevation about 200m.

We rented 2 motor scooters to discover the island, which was absolutely the best idea and the most fun. We had 2 little Piaggio automatic scooters with a 50 cc engine, top speed about 70 km/h, and a cost of 20 Euros a day, crappy helmet included.

We booted around the whole island, Far de La Mola, Far des Cap de Barbaria - an almost lunar landscape with many little figures of rock that must have been built by other tourists.

Then we moved on to Platja de Cala Saona, probably the nicest beach on the island, set into a rocky scenery. Most other beaches we saw (Es Copinar, Es Arenals on the south side of the island) were very flat, sandy beaches, with little scenic interest.

However, the colour of the water, as anywhere on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera is truly amazing, deep blue water with turquoise and light blue patches. I couldnt believe the colours when I first saw them.

After handing our scooters back, we caught the slower ferry back at 7 and arrived in Ibiza Harbour at about 7:30, all the while standing on the outside deck and enjoying the cool air and the atmosphere of an impending sunset. Then we just shopped for dinner at the local Spanish "Walmart" and had a quiet dinner back at the resort. Although it wasnt so quiet after all, it was karaoke night at the Gold Crown pub and there was many a singer who wasnt really meant to be in front of a microphone.

Finally around midnight the ruckus died down and I could get to sleep. Well, tomorrow is our last day in Ibiza, our last chance to enjoy the Mediterranean. Tonight we are going to enjoy some true local Spanish dances in the village of Sant Miquel. Should be interesting...

Susanne Pacher is the publisher of a website called Travel and Transitions(http://www.travelandtransitions.com). Hes enjoying the colorful scenery and the exhilaration of the wind on his face. The car is a fine piece of machinery as it handles the bends and curves like slot car on a track. His Z3red is his pride, and it is his joy.

The day is, well, perfect. All of a sudden around the bend coming at him is a Volvo. The driver is clearly upset with a frustrated look on her face and is even more surprised by the man in his car she now needs to avoid. As she passes by the man she maintains her lane and shouts out to the man, Pig!

In his anger and disbelief the man does a hazardous U-turn and catches up to the woman. He pulls up along side her and yells at the top of his lungs, Cow!

Extremely satisfied with himself he turns the car around and resumes his leisurely drive and as he rounds the bend sure enough he hits the pig. Another version of this story has him rounding the bend and sure enough there is a policeman and he gets pulled over for speeding, but we found that version a bit disrespectful.

Of course the moral of this story has to deal with how help can and is often perceived as threatening. The woman was doing everything she could under the circumstances and the man took it as an attack on him.

Once while golfing I remember a golfer behind us yelling and waiving a club. I hate being pushed I said, Were maintaining a good pace. So I shout back, Relax, we are playing as fast as we canjust chill out! When we made the turn he approached us and I was preparing for a verbal confrontation. Imagine my embarrassment when he gave me back my 7 iron I left back on the sixth fairway.

Why do we sometimes think the worst in folks when they may be trying to lend assistance? In both of these scenarios there is a direct correlation to the uncertainty of a situation and how our misunderstandings impact trust or the lack thereof. The driver was uncertain as to why the woman would say such a thing and I was uncertain as to why these guys were shouting at us on a golf course. Distrust is a direct result of uncertainty.

Let us take this subject to a plain higher. Direct feedback is also one of those perceived threatening things and conflict is a form of direct feedback. Unfortunately everyone thinks conflict is a nasty word. Its not; at least it doesnt have to be.

The fact that we disagree with one another, even for a split second, makes us think differently about our position, even if we still strongly disagree. Open disagreement in team meetings is how we are able to get many points of view on a subject. Unfiltered and passionate dialogue provides constructive sessions in which teams air different points of view. Healthy means passionate, yet respectful. These dialogues must remain professional and not get personal.

So what happens when I push back a bit, passionately state my point of view and still my ideas are not being used? What a waste of time, right? Wrong! Just because we are heard doesnt guarantee our ideas and thoughts will be used. In fact they often are not. We sometimes find that we strongly disagree with the decision being made and you know whatthats alright too.

We dont have to agree but we do need to be on board. Once we leave that conference room all of our actions, decisions and behaviors need to be in alignment with those decisions. We dont have to agree, but we do have to commit. It is this lack of commitment that impacts the way we hold teams and team members accountable.

In closing we need to come back full circle. So, why dont teams have passionate debate in meetings? Its a lack of trust. Trust that we can be unguarded in our thoughts, opinions and positions. We are creating a culture of bobble heads and we are taking part in bobble head meetings. And this is why most of us hate going to meetings. Theres no excitement and very little interest unfortunately.

We can sit through a three hour movie, but we cant stand the thought of another 30-60 minute meeting. Why? What is it that every movie has in common? Its an element of conflict.

About the Author:

Nicholas D. Are the colors drab? Do your walls look sterile? Dont take a trip to the furniture store just yet! Add some spice to your home using picture frames. Picture frames are a great way to add color and variety to a living area that has a monotonous feel to it. Add some pizazz by adding exotically designed frames or unique, non-traditional frames. Not only do the frames enhance the photo, but theyll also bring out the best in your home.

Decide which picture frame colors are right for your home. Were not after changing your entire color scheme; just adding to what you already have. One important thing to note is that colors are known to evoke certain moods. Red is a color known for passion and energy. If you want to create an aura of excitement, choose red. This color is also eye-catching and grabs the viewers attention. Blue toned colors are known to evoke a calm, serene effect. These colors are more passive and they have a tendency to sink into their background. Neutral colors are used to offset bolder colors in use. These colors also have a tendency to pick up a tinge of the bold colors they are close to. Yellow highlights are great for brightening a room. They generally communicate a joyful, happy atmosphere. Liven up the mood in your home by adding splashes of color.

Use contrasting colored picture frames in the areas you want to accent. For example, use a bold multi-colored picture frame in a room filled with neutral colors. The deep rich colors will complement nicely with the neutral tones already present. The color splashes will draw the eyes to the frame and stand out. If you have a room already filled with colors, tone it down by using light, neutral colored frames like bamboo wood. The lightly colored frames will accent your picture without competing with the furniture for color.

Are multi-colored frames right for you? That depends on the contents of your frame and the room style you are after. There are many elegant and trendy frames containing two or even three colors. Be careful however, to not let the frame compete with the colors of your photo. Some photos just plain get lost in the color scheme of the frame. You decide what works best for you. Still, there are multicolored frames that work. Childrens rooms are great for rainbow colored frames and they also add a cheery touch to the room. In a pastel colored room like the bathroom, a deeper richer hue of the same color on the frame brings the right attention to your picture. Just ensure that the picture frame colors blend with the present color scheme of your room and photo.

Color adds a distinctive touch to your home dcor. Use it to bring attention to your wall hanging or bring out the deeper colors of your furniture. With some creativity, colors can warm up a room as well as cool it down. Colors can be used in a multitude of ways to add life to your home. Everywhere you look, there are people whose native language is Spanish. People you work with, people who serve you in restaurants, people you buy groceries and other products from. My husband tells me that there are more native Spanish speakers in California than there are English speakers. I have heard that Spanish is surpassing English in the United States of America.

When my husband's daughter Tanya was injured at work, she was given a chance to go to school for retraining to another field. She chose to train to work in the medical field. She did well in her studies and completed the training in record time. However, she found out after she was done that she was not hirable in her field. Why? Because she was not bilingual!! All that studying for nothing!

My good friend Maria, who was born in Mexico, landed a dream job with a very large bank here in my town. She was paid to sit all day and greet people and answer phones. She had banker's hours and the great benefits offered by this bank. She doesn't have a banking background; she has only worked in restaurant/retail, just as I have. Why did she get this job? Because she's bilingual!! Because there is a HUGE market for people who can foster communication between English and Spanish speakers. Maria also has done translating for local government agencies.

My friend Maurice has a very lucrative job working for a banking company in D.C. because he is bilingual and he uses his language skills every day in his job. I still see his parents every now and then and they keep me posted on how well he's doing.

If Spanish truly is surpassing English in the United States, then it would make sense that anyone who wanted to further his/her career or get better options for a higher paying career would learn the Spanish language. But how? Should one pay for classes at a local college? A Spanish tutor? How long would it take to learn Spanish, anyway? How much would it cost?

For anyone who truly believes that speaking Spanish fluently would further his/her chances of making a lot more money, this course is for you. You can learn to speak Spanish in 90 days. Yes, 90 days!! Because I believe so much in this program, I am offering a money back guarantee on this program if you haven't learned Spanish in 90 days. So this program is a zero risk program. Who knows? Maybe it will get you your dream job...or at the very least, a job with a "dream schedule". Take it from someone who has worked in retail, there is a lot to be said for having a flexible work schedule.

http://angelae8654.bravejournal.com/

AngelaE8654 lives in the Pacific Northwest. These loans are short-term in nature, in other words they can be deployed to meet smaller monetary requirements.

Unsecured personal loans start from ₤500 to ₤25000, the repayment term lies between six months to ten years. With these loans, the borrower is not required to put any collateral as security against the loan amount. The interest rates are raised by the lender, so as to keep a margin against a potential repayment default from the borrowers side. Unsecured personal loans are availed from a range of different sources, like the online facility, banks and other financial institutions. The first option is for all sense and purposes the most popular of the group, because of a variety of reasons, like customer convenience and quickness.

Unsecured personal loans are deployed for a variety of purposes like home improvement, funding holiday vacations, consolidation of small debts etc.

Unsecured personal loans are immeasurably popular these days owing to a host of different reasons. One of the most significant reasons is that these loans can be availed by both homeowners and tenants. For the tenant, these loans are the only practical options. For homeowners averse to risk collateral, these loans become the best of the other options.

A good credit score goes a long way in availing a good personal loan. A good credit score can be engendered by regular repayments of the loan. There are other factors that affect a credit score. Lenders use credit reference agencies to approve and work out personal information. The one big advantage with unsecured personal loans is the lack of collateral. In lay parlance, the borrower does not risk losing any asset in case of an unintentional default. There are other advantages too that include the absence of collateral evaluation in case of unsecured personal loans. This leads to faster processing of the loan amount.

About the Author: The Author is a writer that specializes in financial and loan related topics including secured loans and personal loans and homeowner loans etc. These and other related financial topics are designed to inform people about loans and their benefits.

Basket Coffee Table Wicker
Hugo Boss 3a Schoen Language Nl
Malaga Vliegen

Lovely Laos

I have been in Laos less than 24 hours and already i am in love with this place...It truly is, as my guidebook said, "a breath of fresh air". Perhaps it is just escaping the madness and mayhem that is Bangkok but I think regardless of where I've come from I'd find this place magical...

I'm in Vienteinne, the capitol of Laos. It lays in the central south of the country, about 20 minutes from the border of Thailand, in order to arrive here - you must cross "Friendship Bridge" which I find so appropriate, being that these people are so incredibly welcoming and friendly...did I mention this place is also cheap as chips?? well, it is. That is a nice welcome as well (given that I have pretty much blown my budget out of the water).

The city is lush and green because it is on the Mekong River, and as I write the sun is beginning to set, casting that dusky haze over everything, making it that much more beautiful. There are loads of vendors across the street, all busying about in their pointy straw hats selling fruit, fishes, and other asian delicacies whose names I cannot spell or pronounce. This city was once colonized by the French and, like Siem Reap and Phnom Phenh in Cambodia, the influence is not hard to find. Tiny French bistros line the riverfront complete with outdoor "cafe style" seating...much of the architecture includes French style facades and those adorable balconies that are so, so... jene ce pais...men ride around on bicycles with carts full of baguettes attached to them, and if that wasn't enough - there is even an Arch de Triumph here as well! I am already in love with the place. Bangkok can definately wear a person thin...

I arrived on an overnight bus from Bangkok - yes, that is approximately 15 hours of travel by bus. Unfortunately for literary licenses sake, there were no goats, chickens, or even locals aboard - it was strait "farang" (tourists) complete with air-con and semi reclining seats. Nothing interesting there. Upon arrival, I hired a "tuk tuk" driver which is a standard mode of transportation here. They are basically motorbikes that have been "souped up" with bigger engines and are attached to a 2 wheel cart with a little roof and open sides and back, which is where up to 4 passengers sit. They are fun as hell to drive around them - but frightening at the same time, as they seem able to go at mock speeds and weave through traffic (Bangkok is traffic HELL, thankfully there is none here).

I was exhausted, to say the least, but I decided to give the town a whirl anyway. I started down the little streets, strolling up one and down another until I had to find respite from the heat - which, by the way, was just short of unbearable. I sat down to have a drink and put my nose in my guidebook looking for things to do. What tickled my fancy?? An herbal steam bath...yes, that is right, ironic as it sounds that is what I opted for (it sounded so appealing and just so Laos). So I started on my way.

This place was so adorable. It was a wooden stilted building that was open on all sides. Various sizes of hanging plants lined the edges and the slight derelict condition of the place made it all the more charming. Upon ascending the stairs, there is a room where there are wooden cabinets to put your things as well as cushioned benches and a table where detoxifying tea is being served to the mileu of dripping individuals fresh out of the room. To the left is the modest steam room (the only walled-in room) and the entire front area contains 6 beds where you can get a traditional massage. I thew on my sarong and went in...

The room was not as aromatic as I expected, but fragrant still and very small (fit 4-5). Hot coals at our feet generate the steam and a slight smell of lemongrass is in the air. It is lovely and somehow refreshing, even on a record hot day. I went back downstairs and doused myself with the bucket shower provided (sarong and all), had a cup of tea, and went in again. Sigh. Then I got a lovely full body - massage (one hour - 3 dollars...I am not kidding) by a girl who could not have been more than 13.

After my detoxifying stint at the sauna, I ran into 3 monks who were very curious about me; where I was from, where I had been...etc. and I chatted with them for about 1/2 hour. I was slightly caught off-gaurd by their openness, as they are usually pretty discreet, and I was careful to try to remember all the things NOT to do, namely: touch them. A woman touching a monk in any way shape or form is tantamount to dirtying his purity. They wanted to look at my necklace, and all of us were careful not to accidently make contact. Finally, I took some pictures of them, and tried to excuse myself.

Then they hit on me.

Yep, 3 monks actually hit on me. It was hysterical. They told me it was "woman's day" - that I was beautiful, and could they be my husband? I chuckled and just waved goodbye, not sure what kind of karma I acquired for unknowingly seducing 3 monks.

Anyway - that was my day and I feel like a million bucks. I am so, so, incredibly happy to be here, and I just cannot wait for what lies ahead.

For now, I'll settle for the sunset over the Mekong.

Junior Golf Instruction

Ya Mule! - Backpacking In Siena, Italy

Ah, the glamour of backpacking through Europe. Of course, the glamour comes with a price as I found in Siena, Italy.

Siena

Siena is located an hour or so outside of Florence, Italy. My handy dandy guidebook suggested it was a side trip that just had to be made. A medieval structure located behind protective walls on the top of a hill. The central area was generally closed off to cars and it was a taste of true Italy. Who was I to argue?

As I sat on the train, I check my backpack for any excess weight. I had already discarded or sent home unnecessary items and was feeling pretty light on my feet. Next thing I knew, the train had stopped and I was standing on flat road next to a rolling hill covered in trees and homes. Siena proper was at the top.

The thing about rolling hills with lots of foliage is they are simply evil. You can never get a grasp on how far it is to the top. You keep thinking the top appears to be a few hundred feet in front of you until you reach it. Then you discover it is just a dip before another upward section. The hill up to Siena is just such a rolling hill. Throw in a road that twists all over the hill like a drunken sailor on leave, and youll never scoff at a moped again.

Getting in touch with my inner mule, I began to climb and tame the great beast. As I trudged along, I thought of all the great people that must of walked up the same hill throughout history. As I stood in the shade panting, I thought all of those great people probably hitched a ride instead of walking like me.

After thirty-five minutes or so, I was seriously starting to think about hitching a ride. Of course, this would mean admitting defeat. The battle between my genetic male stubbornness and this sucks attitude was intense. Like a mule, I kept going. Five bends, three dips that I could have sworn were the top.

Just as I was giving ina wall. A really big wall. I passed it and suddenly was in a large parking lot area with tourist buses. Hands on knees, shirt soaking, I tried to maintain my dignity as the tourist looked at me like I was insane. Did that moron walk up here? One even took a picture!

After composing myselferr, getting my breath back, I booked a room in a little hotel. The young lady working the desk seemed hesitant, but I made some comment about it being a long way up from the valley. She started giggling and I had the room.

I showered and went looking for trouble. Well, trouble that was on a flat surface. In the town centre, I stumbled upon a small caf selling Mexican beer. Being from San Diego, this was nirvana. My inner mule was quickly appeased and the hill of death forgotten.

Reflecting on my climb from a historical perspective, I learned a good lesson. It is far better to be behind the wall than trying to attack it!

Rick Chapo is with NomadJournals.com - makers of diary and writing journals for backpacking. Because you can save time and money. You don't have to wait in line at the service garage or quick oil change shop. For ten bucks you can get the best oil and a brand new oil filter. And, it's so easy to do that you could train a monkey to do it.

Changing your cars motor oil is a very simple three-step process: 1. Drain the old oil. 2. Replace the oil filter. 3. Add the new oil. But before we go through the steps, lets answer a few basic questions.

When should I change my oil?

Look in your cars owners manual. Most auto manufacturers recommend changing the motor oil every 6,000 miles for normal service, or every 3,000 miles for severe service. I change my oil every 6,000 miles, and my engines run like new when I trade my vehicles in with well over 100,000 miles on them. One thing that I do is change a new cars oil after the first 300 mile break-in period. Then, after that, I change the oil every 6,000 miles.

What kind of oil should I use?

You are not going to save money by using an off-brand oil because your engine will wear out sooner. Use oil that meets the American Pertroleum Institute (API) classification SL. I use Valvoline, Quaker State, Pennzoil, or Havoline brand oil. These quality oils contain additives that make them work better and longer.

If you are changing your oil just before winter, use SAE 10W30 weight oil. This number means the oil will have a thin 10 weight viscosity when the engine is cold, helping the engine to start easier, and then the oil will thicken to 30 weight viscosity when the engine warms up, protecting the engine better. If you are changing oil just before summer, use SAE 10W40 weight oil. The extra 40 weight viscosity will protect your engine better when it's hot.

What's the First Step?

First let your engine cool off. Modern engines run at close to 300 degrees (F) and hot oil will definitely give you a severe burn. You shouldn't have to jack your car up unless you have some kind of ground hugging sports car or low rider. Almost all cars have enough space underneath to reach under and change the engine oil.

Step 1: Drain the old oil.

Locate the oil drain plug and place a pan under it to catch the oil. With a box wrench, remove the oil plug.

Note for newbies: To remove the drain plug, turn it counter-clockwise.

- If you have a GM dual-overhead-cam EcoTec engine you may have a difficult time locating the drain plug on all that aluminum.

When the oil stops draining, reinstall the drain plug.

Note for newbies: To replace the drain plug turn it clockwise. Start the plug with your fingers. If it seems even slightly hard to turn, back it out! You are crossing the threads.

Step 2. Replace the oil filter.

Move your oil catch pan under the oil filter. Using an oil filter wrench to get it started, remove the oil filter. (newbies: counter-clockwise, and you will get some oil on your hand.)

- A strap type oil filter wrench is the best kind to use. A socket type oil filter tool is used with a ratchet just like a regular socket. The problem with the socket type is that it tends to get stuck on the filter. Use the socket type tool if you don't have enough clearance around the oil filter to use the strap type.

With your finger put a thin coat of oil on the new filter's gasket to make it seal better.

*! Now pay attention - here's were you can screw up royal!

With your hand, install the new oil filter. If it seems even slightly hard to turn, back it out! You are crossing the threads. Most filters have an instruction printed on them to give the filter one more turn after the gasket has made contact.

Here's what I recommend: screw the filter on until its "hand tight". Then use the oil filter wrench to snug it up another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. This is critical!

When the vehicle is running, the oil pump puts the oil under pressure. If you don't install the oil filter tight enough, the oil will come gushing out. If that happens shut down the engine immediately! Without oil, an engine will lock up within seconds.

The first time I changed my oil, I used the filter wrench to tighten the filter as tight as I could get it. Wrong! The next time I went to change my oil, I couldn't get the filter off. Luckily I had plenty of room around the filer, so I hammered a screw driver through the body of the filter and used the handle of the screw driver to turn the filter off.

Warning! Don't over-tighten the filter. Follow the instructions above carefully!

- The GM dual-overhead-cam EcoTec engine has an unusual oil filter located on top of the engine. Remove the engine air intake hose. That's the oil filter canister just to the right of, and below, the end of the open air intake tube. Use a proper size wrench to remove the canister lid. This engine uses a special filter cartridge.

Step 3. Add the new oil.

Locate the oil filler cap on the valve cover. I've seen newbies pour motor oil in everything from the master brake cylinder to the radiator cap. Make sure you have located the the oil filler cap. Remove the oil filler cap.

When pouring the oil, you would be wise to use a funnel between the oil can and the valve cover oil filler hole.

How much oil should you add? Look in your cars owner manual. Most engines have a capacity of four or five quarts. Don't overfill the crank case. When you run the engine the extra oil will be blown out through the PCV value, possibly stalling your engine.

Tip: If you don't know the oil capacity of the engine, add four quarts, then check the oil level, if it's a quart low add another quart.

Replace the oil filler cap.

Step 4. Start the Engine.

Yes, I know, I said there where only three steps. You're finished, this is not really a "step".

Start the engine and make sure the oil warning light goes off. Look under the vehicle to make sure oil is not leaking out. Turn off the engine and let it set for a minute to let the oil drain down to the crank case. Then use the dip stick to check the oil level.

How to check the oil level: Remove the dip stick, wipe it clean with a rag, reinstall the dip stick. Make sure the dip stick is in all the way or you will get a false reading. After a few seconds remove the dip stick and examine how far up the stick is covered with oil. Most dip sticks have a "full" mark printed on them.

Note: I find the best way to dispose of the old oil is to use a funnel to pore it from the collection pan into the bottles from which the new oil came. When I get a big pile of used oil bottles I bring them to the oil recycling center. Be sure to mark the used oil bottles so you don't accidentally think they are new oil.

Copyright(C)2004 Bucaro TecHelp.

Permission is granted for the below article to forward, reprint, distribute, use for ezine, newsletter, website, offer as free bonus or part of a product for sale as long as no changes are made and the byline, copyright, and the resource box below is included.

About The Author

Stephen Bucaro

To learn how to maintain your computer and use it more effectively to design a Web site and make money on the Web visit bucarotechelp.com. You feel you are ready to take the leap and launch your photography career but cant afford to give up the 9 to 5 just yet? Odd as it may sound, shooting travel photography doesnt necessarily mean going anywhere.

I remember leaving regional Australia to live in London for a few years in my early twenties thinking I was finally moving to somewhere picturesque, somewhere interesting. Returning home a few years later I realized what I had left behind. My point is this: Every corner of the world is unique, even yours. Each country, state, or region carries its own set of characters, notable figures, culture and landscape. The challenge for the photographer is to find them to present to others.

Maybe you live in a city with a number of historical buildings, or near national parkland. Your town might host an annual carnival or event that is well known. Whatever your location or the size of your local area, there is bound to be something which interest people. Make it your goal to educate people about the place you come from, to show them why they should visit.

The great benefit to photographing subjects that are near to you is that you have the opportunity to revisit them as often as you need to get the results you are looking for. This can help relieve some of the pressure you may feel if you were spending a limited amount of time at a location. Here you are able to shoot in varying conditions and at varying times of day to capture the many moods of your subject. Spend a morning here, an afternoon there in between other commitments and before long you will come away with a comprehensive series of images depicting your subject in various light and shade.

To keep yourself enthusiastic about your subject, you might want to shoot two or maybe three projects at a time. Spend a Saturday afternoon shooting your local towns attractions and people, and next weekend drive into the nearest city to shoot architecture and caf culture.

But how do you choose projects that will assist in creating strong saleable images? Search stock photography agencies, look through travel magazines and newspapers. What you see everyday is what sells. The key is to plan what you are going to shoot. Although we are all guided by weather conditions, it is possible to select the images you want before you arrive at your location. I rarely arrive without at least a few images mapped out in my head, and never without a shoot list.

As travel photographers, it goes without saying that we have a passion for travel. Its why we do what we do. But it is an extremely difficult business to get into. The catch 22 is that to produce a portfolio or stock image library you need time and money. To fund your photography you need to work. It will take time and dedication, but by shooting close to home you will gradually improve your photography skills and start to build a portfolio of images to be proud of. It all comes down to the way we view our surroundings.

Mark Eden is a freelance photographer and the founder and director of Expanse Photography. But it might not be a comfortable process getting there. A lot depends on your financial conditioning.

You might have to change some beliefs and actions that are familiar to you now and feel like they are based in an objective reality, when in fact, there is no such thing. A belief is just a thought you keep thinking. Beliefs can change, and so can your opinion about what is real and what is possible.

The financial conditioning for the majority of people goes something like this:
* Go to work for a stable company and you will have job security.
* Work hard and you will earn a fair income.
* Avoid debt because all debt is bad.
* Minimize spending and put your money into savings.
* Focus on funding your retirement. Retirement planning should pay a fraction of what you made during your working years.

If these money statements sound familiar - even if they don't ring true, or make sense - then your financial conditioning needs revision in order for you to achieve financial freedom. For starters, rather than planning for retirement, how about planning for wealth?

First step: know exactly where you are right now- your net worth as of today. List all your assets, from cash on hand to retirement to home equity. List all your liabilities, from mortgage to credit card to student loans.

When you find the difference between your assets and liabilities, you know your net worth.

Next step: know your cash flow. Itemize your income and expenses. (By the way, the mortgage on your house is a liability; a monthly mortgage payment is an expense).

When you find the difference between income and expenses, you know your cash flow.

Once you know your net worth and your cash flow, you have a financial baseline from which to launch your financial freedom plan.

[A little incentive for you to do your financial baseline: most people tell me that when they do this inventory, they find money they didn't realize they had. Years ago, when I first did my financial baseline, I found papers for a fund worth about $7000 that I had from an early employer. I had forgotten about it when I left the company and moved to another city.]

The plan for financial freedom that you design involves sequencing, or doing the right thing at the right time, and there is no formula for that. It depends on your particular situation. But in general, you want to start with a focus on creating cash - not on paying down debt.

Let me emphasize this because it is the opposite of the way most people think. Most people think they have to get debt-free first. And yes, eventually, you want to be consumer debt-free, but that might not be your best first move. Your best first move is to figure out a way to create more cash.

Think like a wealth builder. How can you take your existing skill set and leverage it? What could you do right now to make an extra $50 or $100 or $500 dollars a day?

Focus your attention on creating more cash, and then your next move toward financial freedom will become apparent. It might be a matter of paying down debt, might be a tax strategy, might be an investment plan. But for the present, increase your income. After figuring out your baseline, it's the next logical step.

Lila Norden is a business and financial consultant. It also allows employees to chase money leaving the owner free for more productive activity.

I learned the power of a debt collecting system from a window blind contractor:

One of my employees ordered blinds for our office windows. The contractor didn't arrive on the promised date so we assumed that he wasnt coming and called in a second contractor. Embarrassingly they both arrived to fit the blinds on the same day.

We chased the first guy away with his blinds because he hadn't delivered as promised and thought that was the end of the matter. Not a chance...

One week later a polite note and a copy of the invoice arrived (We ignored it).

Exactly a week after than another letter arrived with another polite request to pay (We ignored it too). On the fourth week we got a letter of demand from his lawyer (We ignored it).

And exactly five weeks after the invoice was raised we received a summons (It wasn't worth the cost of the fight so I paid up and hired the lawyer to collect for us).

The owner of the blind company had set up a debt collecting system many years previously that his employees worked to.

It was a series of pre-written form letters that his secretary sent at weekly intervals if the money was not in the account. After the third week she had another form letter which instructed the lawyer to take legal action.

This debt collecting system takes less than an hour to implement and works really well.

Pete Bowen systemizes small businesses to run without their owners having to work every day. Belfast may often play second fiddle to its Republic of Ireland counterpart Dublin but this capital city has just as much to offer if not more. Here are the top five reasons to visit.

History Belfast is a city steeped in history. Its City Hall is an example of Classical Renaissance style while St Annes Cathedral, which took 77 years to complete, was built in 'Hiberno-Romanesque' style. Belfast was also the birthplace of the doomed Titanic. The great ship was built in the city and sailed from here on its test runs. In Belfast, you can take the Titanic Trail and trace the historic places associated with the pride of the White Star line.

Fun for children Children are not left out on a holiday to Belfast. Theres plenty for kids to do. The Odyssey Complex is great for children. It features the W5 Interactive Discovery Centre, the IMAX Cinema, Hard Rock Caf and the Odyssey Arena home of the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey Team.

Shopping Belfast is a fantastic city for shopping. But for something a little different try St Georges market (the oldest covered market in Ireland) where you can find unique and quirky items. The Variety market at St Georges runs every Friday morning and features the largest indoor seafood market in Ireland.

Pubs and food Belfast is famous for its pubs. With traditional Irish pubs, serving traditional ale it provides a haven for those seeking to escape the modern bar culture. Dining out is also an experience in Belfast with everything on offer from Indian and Chinese cuisine to five star restaurants and good old Irish pub food.

Nightlife Aside from its traditional pubs, Belfast has some of the best clubs in Europe. It has played host to some of the biggest bands and artists in the world at venues like the Odyssey Arena, Belfast Waterfront Hall and the Grand Opera House.

Russ Pooley writes for Drake & Cavendish who provide a luxury hotel research directory featuring over 5,000 luxury hotels in over 700 resort locations around the world.
